The Old Korean Legation is pleased to announce an upcoming lecture hosted at the Old Korean Legation on Saturday, June 14th, at 2:00 PM.
The Old Korean Legation will be welcoming Dr. Robert J. Fouser (Independent Scholar, former Professor of Korean Language Education at Seoul National University) to give a talk titled "American Learners of Korean in the Late 19th Century: Methods and Achievements."
This lecture will explore how American missionaries and diplomats in the late 19th century learned the Korean language, how their efforts shaped Korea-U.S. exchanges, and the lasting impact of their contributions on bilateral relations. (The lecture will conduct in English.)
